Personality:
★ 50 SHADES OF PRIDE ★ I could write (and I have!) several long paragraphs about Mizael and his pride. Pride is the trait that defines Mizael the most--he even describes himself as "a proud warrior of Barian." He's proud of himself and his skills to the point of arrogance, even sometimes deriding his teammates' skills in favor of his own, and his haughty, condescending attitude can be irritating to everyone around him. He's particularly proud of being Barian--even after he knows it was only because of Don Thousand's meddling--and of his dragons and his relationship with them as the strongest dragon tamer. He's even a little vain and likes showing off--when he first arrives in the human world, he makes a show of it and the other Barians around even know it's him partly because of how flashy it is.
Mizael's pride in himself and his dueling isn't completely unfounded, as he is shown to be one of the more powerful Barians and better duelists around, but his overconfidence can also get him into trouble. At least once he severely underestimates his opponents' dueling skills and it gets his ace sealed away (though not for long). At one point, he nearly refuses to leave another dimension even as it's literally falling apart around him because he so desperately wants to finish his duel. It's even part of what gets him killed later, as he assumed he'd have little trouble beating Don Thousand in only one turn.
★ Hot-Headed ★ Mizael's pride isn't the only thing that gets him in trouble. While Mizael is usually fairly level-headed and practical--he's perfectly capable of having a calm conversation with someone, be it friend or rival, even in the middle of a difficult situation--he is also easily flustered and easily goaded. Be it because of insults or unwanted truths or a situation drastically not going his way (or Vector in general), Mizael has a quick temper and he'll bluster or act without thinking. This often results in him attacking Vector or snapping at whoever's saying the thing he doesn't want to hear, but sometimes has consequences like wasting a draw because he was angry and panicking about ace being sealed or walking right up to the god of Barian and demanding a duel because he was so angry about how they had been used.
★ Straightforward ★ Whether he's trying to put his hand through Vector's head or not, Mizael prefers to approach situations logically and go after his opponents directly instead of wasting time with schemes and manipulation. This is, in fact, one of several reasons he wants to put his fist through Vector's head in the first place--because Vector constantly uses complicated schemes and evasive tactics to get what he wants, while Mizael would much rather just walk right up to his opponent and say "Hello, I'm your enemy, duel me!" In fact, out of all the Barians, he's pretty much the only one who did approach Yuma and Astral that way right from the beginning and never hides who he is from them for any reason. He's also quite straightforward with his speech, saying exactly how he feels whether it's tactful or not.
★ Principled ★ Leftover from the noble person he was in his past life, Mizael holds such things as honor, fairness, and loyalty in high regard. He abhors tactics that handicap his opponent--and, in fact, he allowed himself to suffer the same handicap, despite having a way to negate it, just so he and Kaito would be on an even playing field. He never even considered that Don Thousand might not play fairly in their duel, because duels are supposed to be conducted with some honor and fairness. This is generally his main issue with Vector, in fact; Vactor is willing to do anything to win, even if it means betraying his allies or using some horribly underhanded tactics, while Mizael would never dream of betraying anyone, even if it means he might lose or die. There are times when his temper gets the best of him and his adherence to honor--attacking an old man because he was bringing up Mizael's past as a human probably wasn't very honorable. But his desire for fairness and loyalty to his fellow Barians and his dragons remains unwavering right to the end.
★ Dedicated ★ "All for the sake of the Barian world." Speaking of that loyalty to his dragons and Barian...yeah, he's really loyal to his dragons and Barian. It doesn't matter that being a Barian and having Tachyon Dragon are only because of Don Thousand's meddling, he's going to fight for them and how dare you say his relationship with Tachyon is a lie. It isn't just Barian the place or idea, though; he's also dedicated to the people in it. While he can be condescending toward his fellow Barians at times, he does get angry if someone else insults them, and he's willing to take time to look over injuries and take them back home. He's clearly shocked and distressed when he learns most of the other Barians are dead and goes after Don Thousand specifically because he hurt them and was using them. And while he disagrees with several of the plans made to deal with Yuma and Astral, he still goes along with them for the sake of Barian.
★ Trust or Lack Thereof ★ Kaito, his dragon rival, felt that dragons are the only beings Mizael trusts/believes in, but that isn't entirely true. Mizael trusts most of his fellow Barians to an extent, some more than others. He's closest to their acting leader Durbe; Mizael often helps Durbe plan their next moves and they keep no secrets from each other. Even when Durbe makes a decision Mizael disagrees with, Mizael will go along with it because he trusts that Durbe is acting in their best interests. He shows no lack of trust toward Gilag and Alit the way he does Vector. And he's even willing to trust and believe in Nasch and Merag after their return, even though they had been on the other side of the war up until then. It's less that he can't trust others and more that he's reluctant to trust anyone, especially humans, very quickly and he would prefer to solve problems on his own rather than have to trust in someone else. He is, however, a Yugioh character and is definitely not immune to learning to trust and respect someone through a duel and/or facing down some obstacle. And of course, having a good relationship with dragons does help.
Always Keep In Mind:
1) He's not human, he doesn't like humans, he doesn't want to be human, and a lot of this human stuff is new and weird to him BUT--
2) --He doesn't hate the idea as much as he would have at an earlier pull point. By this particular pull point, he's pretty much forced to acknowledge that yes, he actually was a human once, and he has gotten/is getting his memories of it back. So human stuff is weird and new but not, like, a complete unknown.
3) Even though he is pretty independent and arrogant and seems like the kind of person who would want to be in charge and/or not part of a group at all, he's definitely not the leader and he actually seems pretty content with following orders and working toward the goal of the whole team rather than running off on his own. He does prefer to do things on his own, but he's not allergic to teamwork.

Questions: Write an IC answer to the following questions:
What do you want to study at Diatu Magicademy?
Since it seems I have no other choice but to study your human magic...Thaumaturgy and Sundering sound most similar to my actual abilities, so naturally I'm most interested in those. However, I'm not about to ignore anything else that could make me stronger.
If you knew you could go back to the moment you left, would you leave immediately or continue your studies for a while?
Leave. Your defective magic interrupted something important.
If your enemy was at Diatu Magicademy, how would you react?
That depends on which enemy, I suppose.
One is the cause of suffering for my allies and others, as well as my world and another, and he would only do the same here if given the chance. The next time I see him, I will kill him.
One has long been a thorn in my side, and I repeatedly warned the others that we couldn't trust him, and I was right. The next time I see that backstabbing bastard, I'll kill him too. Unfortunately, he's extremely cunning and tenacious and hates fighting fair, so killing him won't be easy. But even if I can't, I'll never let him out of my sight. He never seems to be happy unless he's causing chaos of some kind.
One only poses a threat to my world and should be completely harmless here. I'd keep an eye on him, and I'd be concerned if he found some way back, but I have no quarrel with him other than what his existence does to my world and I doubt he'd affect it much from this place.
When is it acceptable to resolve a dispute by force?
When is it not?
What should the supreme goal of any wizard be?
How should I know? To become the most powerful and skilled you can be?
Special Considerations
Your Special Something: Item of Power
Rank Your House Choice: Ka, Aer et Calculum, Valhudor
Powers: (this...is really not brief and I'm sorry for that, but Barians have a lot of abilities...)
Physiology - Mizael is a Barian! (surprise!) Barians are energy beings from another world that's of a "higher energy" than Earth. Their natural forms in the Barian world are humaniod with some significant differences (like a lack of mouths and some rock-like qualities). On Earth, Barians must take human form in order to interact directly with objects in our "lower energy" world (in most circumstances).
In either their natural forms or human forms, Barians have considerably more physical endurance, strength, speed, and agility than even the above average human. Over the course of the series, various Barians have:
-been punched point-blank in the face (with brass knuckles!) without flinching or taking damage
-thrown a large bear over his head onto the ground
-crushed a television under his foot
-dodged a soccer ball (and a shoe) flying at his head without looking
-leapt tall spires of rock in a single bound
-caught up to a speeding car by leaping across buildings
They still have to work out to keep themselves in peak condition, but they're already starting off much better off than most humans in general.
Astral - Astral is usually invisible to everyone but Yuma (and some of his friends later on), but because the Barians and Astral beings are all beings of "higher energy", the Barians can see him just fine. Barians and Astrals also can't directly interfere with each other, which is why they've had to use humans or take human forms to make any progress in their war.
Teleportation - Barian teleportation comes in three? flavors:
1) your standard disappear in one spot, reappear in another which is only used for short distances, like across a room (this may actually be a form of super speed, but it's probably more like teleportation)
2) body dissolves into pink energy sparkles in one spot, reforms out of pink energy sparkles in another (used to travel within the same world over larger distances)
3) a wormhole which can transport one or more beings from one place to another (used to travel between worlds or over even longer distances within the same world, like halfway across the planet)
Energy Manipulation - the Barians have shown several ways of using energy for offence and defence, such as:
-a blast of "wind" which has enough strength to blast apart doors or fling people backward (can be invisible or waves of pink force)
-a small ball of pink energy which pretty much does the same thing without any lasting damage
-a similar, larger ball of energy which can be used to travel and causes significant damage when it hits things
-an invisible force-shield just big enough for one person
-also their eyes tend to glow pink with energy when they're tapping into their powers or particularly angry
Flight - Barians can also fly between places in a world through a lightning-like streak of energy in a color unique to each Barian.
Levitation/Telekenesis - This is you basic lifting or moving objects with only the power of your mind sort of power. No limit is shown (because it's only shown once thanks zexal), so my personal limit is no objects more than twice his size and not continuously over long distances, as it would be too tiring.
Force Field Spacesuit - So at one point, Mizael and Kaito duel on the moon. And while Kaito had a regular (highly futuristic) spacesuit, Mizael spent the whole duel enveloped in a golden aura, even in his Barian form, which is presumably what allowed him to survive in space since that's the only time he has it.
Power Transfer - Some? of the Barians are able to give powers to humans or each other, and humans affected by Barian's Force seem to automatically get a few powers to go along with it. It's unclear whether it's only a couple Barians or all of them, though.
Card Game Shenanigans (part 1) - Since this is a Yugioh series, there are a few of these too.
Duel Mechanics - Duels in Zexal are conducted through Augmented Reality rather than the holograms of other series. Normal duelists/people need a device called a D-Gazer to see the AR duels, but Barians (and those with Barian-given powers) do not. As humans, the Barians' left eyes turn red and somehow enable them to see the AR fields. In their natural forms, they don't seem to need anything at all.
As there have been plenty of duels in weird places like the Barian world or the moon, it seems Zexal-era duel disks and D-Gazers only need each other to generate an AR field and don't need to rely on any kind of outside database.
Like the other Barians, Mizael's duel disk seems to materialize out of nothing when he summons it to use it. It's also only good for dueling and communicating through floating AR video screens. Which is another thing they can do because why not.
Rank-Up Magic - Not unique to the Barians, but the Barians started it. Certain cards are able to "rank up" certain of their monsters into more powerful forms. Some of these ranked up monsters are particularly difficult to control or are hideously powerful, and they also taint the person connected to them if that person isn't using Barian powers. The two cards the Barians use are Rank-Up Magic Barian's Force and Rank-Up Magic - The Seventh One.
Barian's Force - Not only can this rank up monsters, the Barians can also use it to brainwash humans into doing their bidding! The controlled human gets a copy of Barian's Force and a shiny new overpowered monster and some vague Barian powers. The control can only be broken by defeating the victim in a duel or (probably) if the Barian decides to take it off.
Barian's Chaos Draw - At one point, Nasch also gave them this power, which allows them to draw "The Seventh One" any turn they want (it's magical topdecking lol)
Items:
Items he already has on him but I'm not sure how Okay they are:
Baria Lapis - An object each Barian has which allows them to use their powers in the human world and transform between their human and Barian forms when the conditions are right. The Lapis takes a different shape for each of them; Mizael's is the large, gaudy pendant hanging from his neck.
Card Game Shenanigans (part 2)
Duel Disk - ??? idk it is an item, but he can probably only summon it with his powers so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Tachyon Dragon - Once upon a time, Don Thousand created seven special cards called Over Hundred Numbers, which he used to corrupt seven special humans and ensure they were reborn as the Seven Barian Emperors. Mizael's is Numbers 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon, which is shown to be extremely powerful and difficult to control, so much so that its Ranked-Up form is too powerful to exist in certain spaces. Tachyon Dragon is also able to exist outside of its card and seems to deal real damage to his opponents, and it's one of three cards which unseal Numeron Dragon, the creator of the universe.
Mizael is only able to summon and control Tachyon Dragon while he has his "Barian powers" (which seems to just refer to his ability to turn into a rock alien), and he can only summon Neo Tachyon while he actually is in his Barian form.
Duel Monsters Deck and Other Cards - As of his pull point, Mizael had the following cards:
-his Duel Monsters deck. His main deck is at least 40 cards (deck are required to have a minimum of 40), and his side deck is at least 3 cards, including Tachyon Dragon and Neo Tachyon Dragon
-Numbers 6: OOPArts Atlantal, Numbers 9: Canopy Star - Dyson Sphere, and Numbers 33: OOPArts Super Weapon - Machu Mach, which he collected from Chris and Michael Arclight after their duel and are varying degrees of dangerous to use
-Rank-Up Magic Barian's Force and The Seventh One
Items for potential regains:
Barian Sphere Cubes for the lols
the jian he had when he was human (it also has a scabbard)
his hair jewel thingy from when he was human
the gold choker he had when he was human
Anything Else:
OKAY SO since it seems they can keep physical abilities, I think everything under "Physiology" and "Astral" is okay to keep? (not that the Astral section will ever be relevant, probably) Everything else listed is a power and not an innate physical thing, so.
As for the items he has on him, I think losing his powers in general should de-power all of his stuff by a lot, but if any of it needs to for sure be de-powered, let me know. I completely understand lol
